About This Site

This blog will chronicle my journey as caregiver to my husband who has been sidelined from life due to the early onset of dementia caused by post concussive syndrome. He is a former football player who became a successful real estate broker, and he has always been the MVP on our family's team. I now feel like he's been placed on "injured reserve," and I've been called into the game on 4th and long...and we're not going to punt. It's up to me now to quarterback our family to a successful future in the game of our lives.

This "Playbook" will chronicle my journey as a caregiver for my husband who has been diagnosed with a form of dementia resulting from head injuries sustained as a football player. I definitely want to connect with others who have traveled down this same path, and will be most thankful for your advice, support and wisdom. When all this began, I didn't have much of a game plan, but as time moves on I'm learning (through a lot of trial and error!) about helpful strategies for my husband and our family, and my goal is to share those with others here.
